One of the cool things about photography is that you can use it to view several moments of time in one frame. Instead of showing movement as a series of distinct positions, the way a video does, a photograph shows movement as it affects the light of a single image.
A typical video camera will record 24 separate images each second; this photo was taken over the course of a full second. In effect, this photo shows 24 snippets of time at once. As a result, our brain doesn’t quite know what to make of the image at first glance.
The fact that pausing for just one second can alter an image like that makes me wonder what a picture of eternity would look like?
