Title: The 5th Floor
Why keep your feet on the ground? Feet were made for climbing as well as walking. Jesus Christ calls His people to follow His footsteps (1 Peter 2:21), and He didn’t sit down until He reached the finish line in Heaven (Hebrews 12:1-2). Get your feet comfortable with always pushing forward and moving ever higher (Philippians 3:13-14). God promises to finish the work He started in us (Philippians 1:6), so let’s strive to reach the finish line with Him.
The “Beneath Your Feet” challenge has continued to inspire me. This was actually my first idea for a photo, then the rain came and made puddles yesterday, so I seized that opportunity. 🙂 However I still wanted to capture this shot; to me, it’s a perfect combination of structure and whimsy. The edge of the balcony and the sidewalk create a clearcut angle, which my feet mirror. But my feet are obviously not a natural element in this scene. The tree breaks the straight lines with its jumble of leaves, and my “misplaced feet” overlap it comfortably (mockingly, perhaps?), hopefully causing the viewer to look twice and think a little more about the image.
